Grief for the oppressed

Verses of comfort for the oppressed.

Grief for the oppressed

Postby Soapbox on Tue Jan 29, 2008 1:11 pm

1 Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun:
I saw the tears of the oppressed—
and they have no comforter;
power was on the side of their oppressors—
and they have no comforter.

This is from Ecclesiates. Made me think of myself when in the church and the many hundreds of others who are still there....reminds me also of how God saw my tears and answered my prayers.

It is remarkable to me how God leads people out whom I never would have imagined could be persuaded to leave. Perhaps each of us who reads this should commit to praying for the church leaders and preachers to be led out by God's holy spirit. If there is an evident difference among the preachers individual members will have to do some thinking for themselves, and will hopefully come to the right conclusion. It really is not that difficult. Jesus offers us the gift of salvation. All we have to do is take it.
